# Signing up and signing in

## Signing up

On the [sign up / sign in](https://www.widewired.com/app/account/login) page, submit an email address and a password between 8 and 128 characters.

A new email address creates an account and sends a verification email. The message contains a 6-digit code and a one-click link; either can activate the account. Both expire after 8 hours and can be used only once.

## Signing in

Submitting an address that already has an account performs a normal sign-in. The global and mainland China sites have independent account stores, so an account registered on one cannot sign in to the other.

## Human verification

Sign-up, sign-in and password reset automatically perform human verification. There is no image captcha to complete. A short pause during submission is expected; if it does not finish, reload the page and retry.

## Activation and granted credit

Successful email verification activates the account and issues one-time granted credit. Each account receives it once.

If the balance briefly shows as initializing, credit is still syncing. Refresh later. See the [billing model](https://www.widewired.com/page/docs/billing-model).

## Console language

After sign-in, the global console is in English. Language follows the site domain; there is no language switch in the console.

## Quick troubleshooting

| Symptom | Check and action |
| --- | --- |
| The verification email does not arrive | Check the address and spam folder, then request a new message if necessary |
| The code or link is rejected | Confirm it is within the 8-hour lifetime and has not already been used |
| Submission does not finish | Reload the page, ensure site scripts and required requests are allowed, then retry |
| The account is disabled | Contact support through live chat; see [getting support](https://www.widewired.com/page/docs/support) |
| The password is unknown | Use the reset entry on the sign-in page; see [account security](https://www.widewired.com/page/docs/account-security) |
