Quality
Investigate directional latency, packet loss and path changes for a device pair.
Select a link
Select the network and open Insights → Quality. Set the period. The page defaults to the link with the highest anomaly score, considering loss and path changes, and displays its diagnosis directly. To inspect another link, choose the affected devices using Source site and Destination site; the destination selector lists devices linked to the source.
For a current connectivity check, start with Overview. Quality explains what happened over time.
Compare latency and loss
Read the RTT and packet-loss charts together. Each direction has its own samples; one direction may degrade while the other remains healthy. Select a chart interval to inspect the same period across the diagnosis.
Check sample times before interpreting the result. A gap means that samples are unavailable, not proof of zero traffic or a healthy connection. Fresh 100% packet loss may appear even when a reliable RTT cannot be measured.
Explain a path change
Inspect the path-change markers and events for the selected interval. Compare the previous and new paths, the reason for the change, and quality before and after it.
A switch from direct to a relay can preserve connectivity and is not alone evidence of a fault. To adjust allowed paths, the time plan or path policy, open Configuration → Links; see Links. After saving, compare later samples with the earlier interval and test the real application.
Quick troubleshooting
| Symptom | Check and action |
|---|---|
| No link or trend appears | Confirm the selected network, filters, period and device approval; wait for a new device's first report |
| Charts contain gaps | Check device online state and sample time; missing samples alone do not establish a network fault |
| Loss is 100% but RTT is absent | Test endpoint reachability and firewalls; RTT may be unavailable when probes receive no replies |
| A link changes paths repeatedly | Compare path events and directional trends, then review the policy under Configuration → Links |
| Quality looks healthy but the application is slow | Compare Traffic and test the application's port and endpoint resources |
